Basemental Records is a small indie label based in upstate NY & is home to Al & the Transamericans, Before Cowboys, Diane Schnier, Al.one, Al Schnier & a variety of other projects.  We pride ourselves on making unique recordings, utilizing a wide array of vintage recording equipment & musical instruments in a rural setting - not unlike many of the classic albums made in the '60s & '70s.  

Many of the musicians in & around upstate NY are very much part of a larger extended family that enjoys playing & recording together as part of an informal collective who's roots go back almost 20 years.  Members of moe., the Transamericans, Conehead Buddha, Okemah, Ominous Seapods, Before Cowboys, Gordon Stone Band, Strangefolk, & more are still recording together today.

Diane Schnier is busy working on yet another new album!  This brand new release, tentatively entitled, "Unadorned", features 12 new songs.  As the title suggests, this album will be very stripped down. It is essentially a singer songwriter album, that focuses on vocals & solo piano.  Once again, Al Schnier is producing & engineering.  There are exciting plans regarding alternate tracks, bonus releases & more, so check back here for more info in the coming weeks!
